Cha Joo-young Reveals Intense Behind-the-Scenes Struggles from “The Queen Who Crowns” and “The Glory”

On the February 19 episode of “You Quiz on the Block,” Cha Joo-young appeared in the “No. 1 in Buzz” special and shared behind-the-scenes stories from “The Queen Who Crowns” and “The Glory.”

When asked about landing the lead role in “The Queen Who Crowns,” she recalled, “It was crazy. I really wanted to do it, and they offered it to me right away.” Despite her excitement, she admitted, “I kept wondering, ‘Did I take on a role that’s too big for me?’” and even wanted to run away from the set. She found comfort in memories of her late grandmother, saying, “Every time I felt lost, I would say in my heart, ‘Grandma, please help me.’”

Discussing her dance scene with Lee Hyun-wook, she shared, “We practiced a lot,” to which Yoo Jae-suk jokingly added, “Suddenly, you two kiss and things escalate while the courtiers are watching.”

Regarding “The Glory” audition process, she revealed a defining moment: “The director asked, ‘Joo-young, how have you been?’ and deep inside, I thought, ‘How do you think I’ve been?’ So I just blurted out, ‘(Expletive) What do you mean, how have I been?’ And they absolutely loved it.”
